My Bio

I'm a 30 something artist who's been drawing their whole life and making books almost as long. I've always wanted to tell stories so combining that and art just makes a kind of sense. I'm on Ko-fi now if you want to support me. ko-fi.com/borderbreaker

My wife and I went to a small convention in Wellington last weekend where we encountered a wild artist. We bought some of his work, one of a young future Trunks about to transform and another of Sephiroth. His handle is Ash Inked, he does some cool works, but I can't shake this feeling of envy. I've done conventions before, tried anyway, years ago. A cannot talk to people! This guy though, Ash, was not only selling himself but also articulating his thought and creative processes. I can't even come up with a synopsis for someone on the fly for a film I've just seen let alone explain what my comic is about. Ash -- I'm sure -- will be successful, with his good wisdom and charisma scores. I just wish I could word speak like him.

Recovery. maybe

0 min read
The worst part of injuring your dominant arm isn't not being able to draw for a while but actually having to break all the good habits you'd developed over the years. And I hope this is recovery too. I really hope the niggly aches I feel in my arm is just from using the muscles and such that I've been trying to rest all these months and not a persisting injury that's been misdiagnosed. Lack of progress balances between a fear of my arm worsening and the procrastination habits

A Right Pain

0 min read
I've an intense stabbing pain and/or dull ache and/or icy chill and/or burning sensation in my right arm. I've been instructed to avoid drawing for a while along with anything else that might bring me some joy. The doc decided it's just some minor muscle and nerve injury so it should come right soon if I let it rest. Most likely caused when I crashed my mountain bike on a rainy day down a muddy trail trying to catch up to a friend. My bike slipped out from under me in a mud pool on a corner and I landed on my side pinning my arm. I didn't think much of it at the time because it didn't really hurt. A couple days later when doing the scrawl for
